Adults + Teens Class Descriptions
A class meant for those who are brand new to yoga and have no prior experience. Learn the foundations of yoga (asanas) poses with other new yogis.
Flow into Healing Yoga: Vinyasa
This class begins with gentle movement to awaken and warm the body, then moves into restorative poses to promote opening. Each restorative sequence is designed to move the spine in all directions. These movements illustrate the age-old wisdom of yoga that teaches well-being is enhanced by a healthy spine. Beginners will be welcome.
Flow Yoga: Vinyasa
A well-rounded, open-level vinyasa class to exercise the body and mind. Each Flow Yoga class is based around the Sun Salutations linking a variety of poses that creates a flowing, dynamic and different class each week. Beginners are encouraged to work at their own pace. Please note online or phone registration is required for 7:30AM classes by 8PM the night before.
Warm Yoga: Vinyasa
A vigorous class, combining upper body strength, flexibility and cardio. It is designed for students of all levels seeking a challenge and a good sweat in over 90° room temperature. This class incorporates asanas (postures/poses) from the Hot Yoga lineage into a Vinyasa (continuous flow) style. This style of yoga is available from beginners to advanced students.
Integral Yoga: Hatha
Integral yoga combines all the paths of yoga – asana (postures), pranayama (controlled breathing), selfless service, prayer, chanting, meditation and self-inquiry – into one approach. It emphasizes a more meditative rather than anatomical approach. This style of yoga is encouraged to be “easeful in body, peaceful in mind and useful in life”. Integral yoga classes follow a set pattern and are 75 minutes in length. This includes 45 minutes of asanas, a deep relaxation, a breathing sequence and ends with a meditation. Although challenging, the feeling of the class is gentle and meditative and reflects a traditional approach that benefits all aspects of the individual.
Kripalu Yoga: Hatha
A well-rounded class for beginning & intermediate students that helps release chronic tension, activate energy, develop strength in the body, and cultivate inner focus and clear awareness. Classes include asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) as well as brief periods of meditation and/or relaxation. Compassionate self-acceptance is taught as an essential element of the practice, helping student let go of their judgmental mind as well as their stress.
Sampoorna Yoga was created by Shri Yogi Hari modeling after the Sivananda style of yoga. It is a hatha-based practice for all levels of yogis that incorporates breathing and stretching, asanas, and meditation and reflection. It was created to address the wholeness of being, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The practice is approximately 75 minutes in length.
Power Yoga is a vigorous, fitness-based approach to vinyasa-style yoga. This class is appropriate for all levels, and is directed at creating the highest level of energy, vitality and freedom. By working hard sensitively, we create an environment that’s healing and that honors each individual. In each Power Yoga class, you will be guided through a rigorous full-body workout, while still remaining within the boundaries of your current level of fitness. If you are a beginner, be prepared to work at your own level, and to be surrounded by a nurturing environment in which to begin your Power Yoga practice. If you are more advanced, you’ll be given the chance to work through the full expression of each pose in a deeply satisfying flow, while inspiring new yogis.
Yoga Fight Club
Unleash Your Inner Warrior! Yoga Fight Club is a unique fusion of two disciplines that blends the intense physicality of kickboxing and the more fluid forms of vinyasa yoga in a no-holds-barred, melt-down workout. A vigorous and intelligent vinyasa sequence is used to warm-up the body, integrating drills to transition between fast-twitch and slow-resistance conditioning techniques. A progressive series of kickboxing techniques and drills build form and speed, challenging both mental fortitude and physical endurance, bringing students to their edge. Students of all levels are welcome!
This class is designed to strengthen your body, mind, and spirit, in addition to challenging your limitations, both physically and mentally. Our instructor will take you through a flowing series of yoga poses that will tone and strengthen your major muscle groups of your legs, core and upper body. If you’d like to experience what many people consider the fitness fountain of youth, grab a mat and get ready to strengthen, lengthen, and tone your body with yoga.
Each class includes the practice of gentle physical postures, breathing techniques and relaxation. This class is suitable for older adults, people with physical challenges or those who prefer a more gentle yoga practice.
Enjoy an open-level vinyasa class at the beach to exercise the body and mind. Each Beach Flow Yoga class is based around the Sun Salutations linking a variety of poses that creates a flowing, dynamic and different class each week. Beginners are encouraged to work at their own pace. Class meets at Ideal Beach located off Ocean Avenue and Bayside Avenue in North Middletown. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
Family Yoga (Adult plus child age 4+)
This class provides an opportunity for you to enjoy an interactive yoga class along with your child or children. Enjoy asana, meditations and breath work, yoga games and a replenishing savasana wrapped up in a thematic approach to yoga. The intention is for you and your child or children to enjoy time together, experience the benefits of yoga, and leave feeling replenished and renewed. Parenting is exhausting, your free time should not be! The price includes one parent/caregiver and one child. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
Rock n Roll Yoga
Have you ever approached your mat and thought, ‘yoga is awesome!’? We have! So we designed this class just for you in the name of ‘rocking yoga’. This class features vinyasa power/flow yoga accompanied by classic rock and contemporary music that pumps. Don’t worry, there’s still a savasana at the end for all you yogis! All levels welcome-so come rock out!

Private / Semi-Private Yoga
Private yoga classes offer one–on–one instruction and are tailored to each student’s individual needs. Great for new students, those working with injuries, or an experienced practitioner looking to deepen their practice. Semi Private classes offer the same benefits, and with a friend.
Fitness + Cardio
An internationally known fitness system created by Joseph Pilates focusing on core stability, balance, and flexibility. Come Strengthen, stretch, and tone your muscles with every class. You will leave the class energized from head-to-toe! Please note online or phone registration is required for 7:30 am classes by 8pm the night before.
A high-energy, low-impact class. The focus is on sculpting the thighs, tone and firm the buttocks, flatten abdominals and define arms. Come challenge your basic Pilates Mat exercises. Great for toning and strengthening your muscles. All levels welcome.

Introduction to Greek Folk Dance
Ever been to a Greek festival, wedding or other social event and wondered how to do “those” dances? Always loved the Greek culture, music and dance and wanted to learn more about them? Search no more! Join this class and be taught by an Alumnus of the Hellenic Dancers of New Jersey. This class will provide background of the most popular dances, while you learn the basic steps. (Ages 14 and above)
A high energy, hip hop, dance aerobics class that would suit people of all levels of dance. The movements are not complicated, so even those who have never danced, or claim to be “bad dancers” could still enjoy it. The class would run for an hour, which would include a warm up, three “flirty circuits” (which are continuous, high energy choreographed pieces) and a cool down. (Ages 14 and above)
